Plum, pink and brown . . . oh my!

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with Fiona's bedroom.  We've done things backwards.  We picked a color for the walls first and now I'm trying to coordinate the room around that color.  This is what you get when you ask a toddler for input on the color of her room - purple.  Every time we looked at the paint colors, Fiona chose a purple.  So, purple it is.

This is the paint chip - Ash Violet from Sherwin Williams.  Its the color used in the guest room of this year's HGTV Dream House.  I love this color!  It totally reminds me of the sky at twilight.

I saw this bedding online at Target yesterday.  I think it would be perfect.  Girly but modern and something that doesn't look too young so I won't have to re-do the room again in a few years.

I just hope the purples match.  Its so hard to tell on a computer monitor.  And now I'm off to find some curtains to match and save up some moola to buy her new bed.

Oh, and we're still going with a "horse" theme.  I'm going to hang some pencil sketches that my parents bought for my bedroom when I was a little girl and I've saved all these years.  I'll mat them and hang them in coordinating brown wood frames.

  1. How exciting and fun to be decorating a girls room! I have a sweet little niece who I can wait to grow up so we can do funny girly things!

  2. I won the earrings for your giveaway and they are lovely. I gave them to my 14 year old daughter and she looks great in them and got tons of compliments today at church. She wanted me to tell you if you have any sales to let her know. Thank you so much.
